The picture on the left shows the Brahman
priest cutting off some of her hair. Other relations also cut
a piece of her hair as a token. The picture on the right shows
Nong Oom giving food to the monks as part of the merit making
ceremony. |

After a long day, Nong Oom's hair is finally
shaved off and the guests take turns to pour water over her head. |
