Buddha Shrine

The majority of students and teachers in the school are Buddhists. They pay homage to his image every morning during morning assembly. The Buddha is not seen as a god or an idol but rather as a real person who reached enlightenment. His image is used as an aid for meditation.

The students chant the following which is in Pali, an ancient language which is not easy for the students to understand or pronounce:

He is the holy one, completley aware, the Lord
I honour the Lord Buddha
The moral instruction is well preached by the Lord
I will pay homage homage to the moral instruction
The community of the disciples of the Lord is of good conduct
I pay homage to the community of the disciples.

Visit our Buddhism in Thailand page which tells you more about the religion as well as what happens when one of our students becomes a novice monk for a short time.
