This 15 second
clip shows you the Spirit House (on the left) and the
Brahman Shrine. The Spirit House is for the guardian
spirits of the land where the school is built. We have
to appease them with a beautiful house of their own
and daily offerings of food and drink. If we don't,
they might cause mischief in the school. The Brahman
Shrine, the Hindu diety with four faces, is a common
sight in Thailand. It is nothing to do with Buddhism,
but students and teachers might make a wish at the shrine
for good luck.
