Thai people are very patriotic. The national flag is raised and lowered all over the country at exactly 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. The flag in the playground is flown seven days a week even when there are no students present. The national anthem, is played on all the radio and t.v. stations twice a day and often over loudspeakers outside the city hall and other government buildings. The king's anthem is usually played before any sporting event and before a movie at the cinema. In all cases, even if you are eating a bowl of noodles at a bus station, it is expected to show the proper respect by stopping what you are doing and standing up.
The national flag of Thailand has five, three-coloured horizontal stripes: red, white and blue. The red stands for the Thai Nation. The white stands for the Buddhist faith. The blue stands for the monarchy. Download the national anthem.
