| After the procession around the temple, the students moved to another building where a long row of monks were sitting on a raised platform. The students sat down in a respectful position, with their legs tucked under, facing the monks. |

| A long ball of string, called sai sin in Thai, is unwound and passed around the students and the gifts brought for the monks. |

| The sai sin is then given to the abbot. For about 15 minutes the students take part in Buddhist chanting. |

|
| The food and other essential items are then offered to the monks. At the conclusion of the ceremony, the abbot walked around the students, blessing them with sacred water. |
